Greenville Park House, Co. Kilkenny, the home of John Greene. The lands of Kilcroney were originally purchased by John Greene and he renamed Kilcroney "Greenville". John's son, John Greene had the house shown above built in 1740. The lands consisted of a deer park and 517 acres.

		Plaque at St. Andrew's Church, Dublin: In memory of John Greene born at Mardyke Walk Cork 1st June 1813, died at 16 Clare Street Dublin, 20th October 1889. He was the younger son of Godfrey Greene of Greenmount and Margaret 2nd Daughter of the Rev. Joseph Poulter sometime rector of Dunkitt and grandson of John Greene of Greenville and Mira daughter of Samuel Boyse of Bishop's Hall, all in the county of Kilkenny. The remains of his father and grandfather rest in the family vault at Kilmacow. Those of his mother, brother and sister at Mount Jerome also of his second son Godfrey who died 21st June 1892 also his eldest son Lieut. Colonel John Joseph Greene R.A.M.C who died 10th August 1899 also Charlotte widow of John Greene who died 15th June 1903 aged 75 R.I.P

		ii.	John Newport Greene born 1891 in Virginia, USA, married Ida Evangel Wright. He became the first American soldier decorated by the United States for heroism in World War I. In March 1918, a severely wounded Greene refused to surrender the dugout in which he and his dead and wounded comrades lay. He single-handedly laid down such a withering fire that the German advance against his position was abandoned. For this action, Greene was awarded the Distinquished Service Cross and the French Croix de Guerre with Palm. He died 1975 in Texas leaving issue.

Joining him on the voyage was his brother Godfrey Chichester Greene and 3 cousins, Robert, Samuel and Jones Greene who were sons of John Samuel Greene's brother, Joseph Greene

	There is some confusion regarding John Samuel's various partners. He is know to have fathered children with three seperate woman, and it has been suggested by the Greene descendants in Argentina that he only actually married Ignatia Zaragosa. Unfortunately no marrriage records have been traced to confirm this.
	What is known, is that his 1st union with Teresa Saenz ended with her death in 1889 in London.
	On the census for 1891 in Lambeth he is shown as John Green, living with his wife, Feliza (sic) Green and their daughter Valentina shown as aged 3.( https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q9K7-HT2). This is strange as he was supposedly married to Ignatia Zaragosa at this time and had fathered several children by her.
